Young Carer
Young Carers: Support at Mossbourne Fobbing Academy
A young carer is a student who helps look after someone at home due to illness, disability, mental health needs or other challenges.
Many students do not realise they are young carers—but if you regularly support someone at home, we are here to help.
You may be a young carer if you:
- Help with cooking, cleaning or household tasks
- Support with personal care or mobility
- Help manage medication or appointments
- Look after younger siblings
- Provide emotional support to a family member
How This Can Feel
Being a young carer can sometimes impact your time, friendships and how you feel. You may experience stress, worry or tiredness—and that is completely understandable.
